Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh was sworn as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.

Sri Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh was officially sworn in as the Chief Justice of the High Court for the State of Telangana at Hyderabad this Saturday i.e., on 19.07.2025 at 12:30 PM. Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, who served as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court, was assigned his new role at a ceremony conducted at Raj Bhavan, at Hyderabad.

The Oath was administered by the Governor of Telangana Sri Jishnu Dev Varma, marking Singh’s transition from Tripura High Court to succeeding Justice Sujoy Paul, who is Acting Chief Justice of Telangana High Court. Joining the occasion were dignitaries including the Chief Minister of Telangana State Sri Anumula Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Sri Bhatti Vikramarka, alongside some of Supreme Court Judges and other High Court Judges and Cabinet Ministers.

He was born on July 7th, 1965, His Lordship holds a B.A. Honours and an LL.B. from the University of Delhi. His Lordship got enrolled as Advocate and practiced at Patna High Court from 1990 to 2000 and in the High Court of Jharkhand since 2001 till His Lordship’s elevation as Judge of High Court of Jharkhand. His Lordship was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand on 24th January, 2012 and confirmed as Permanent Judge on 16th January, 2014. His Lordship also held the post of Executive Chairman of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority. Appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jharkhand from 20th of December, 2022 to 19th February, 2023.
